Magic is the manipulation of mana.

Description[]

Magic is divided amongst different systems, individuals with the aptitude for magic learn a new spell of the magic system that they have the highest compatibility with automatically whenever they reach a certain level. However, they will only learn higher tier spells of the same magic system that they have the highest compatibility for this way and can only learn spells from other systems through hard work and memorization.

Having a bad affinity with a magic system can limit the user to only half the power that someone who's at the same Level and has a good affinity with this magic system can bring out when casting from this magic system. A bad affinity can even prevent someone from being able to use it at all.

Spells are divided amongst 10 levels/tiers/ranks, with the first-tier being the weakest all the way going up to the tenth-tier which is the strongest. Even by only being able to handle the lowest first-tier magic, it's easy to kill several people at the same time, while with a fifth-tier spell, even burning an entire city is possible.

Usage[]

Generally speaking, there are three steps that must be completed to successfully invoke magic.

The first is the chanting of the [Spell] to interfere with the laws of the world.

Second, [Internal Mana Control] to collect the necessary amount of magical power inside the body.

And lastly, [External Mana Operation] to control the formation of the magic itself in the environment using the internal magical power outside the body - that is, releasing the magical power into the air, then constructing the type and shape of the magic.

Because the third part, [External Mana Operation] is several times more difficult than the other two parts, it is typical to use a casting assists such as skills, jobs, blessings or equipment like a magic staff when casting a spell.

Magic Systems[]

There are a number of systems magic falls under. You generally have an aptitude for one and the others you must learn through study, practice, and dedication.

Origin Magic[]

Rather than granting spells, origin magic instead grants the ability to easily learn many things including but not limited to any magic, and even improves the user's memory. Origin magic can only be obtained through receiving the [Divine Protection of the Great God of Origin and End].


Demise Magic[]

Demise Magic (also called Destruction or End Magic) is a powerful magic system received upon getting the [Divine Protection of the Great God of Origin and End].

  • [Spear of the End (Gendihi)] - a destructive first-tier Demise spell in the shape of a spear that can be thrown or launched from a ballista.
  • [Destroy all with Darkness (Su Ordo Kuta Meide)] - a third-tier Demise spell which summons three pyramid-shaped shields that can even destroy the fifth-tier White Flame Dragon spell when combined with "Shock Back".
  • [The Unleashed Seven Arrows of Demise (Verdun Fléchette Bar)] - a fourth-tier Demise spell.


Fire Magic[]

Fire Magic (also called Flame Magic) is a system based on the manipulation of fire.

  • [Flame Calamity (Char Rou)] - a first-tier flame spell, which creates a simple fireball.
  • [Firestorm Calamity (Char’dei Dirou)] - a second-tier flame spell that creates several fireballs and quickly launches them. The size and amount of fireballs vary depending on the caster's abilities.
  • [Unnamed Fire Barrier] - a flame barrier that keeps out enemies of levels lower than the caster.
  • [Blue Flame Spears (Ruid Fara Lacus)] - a third-tier flame spell where several burning blue flame spears are shot at high speeds. Once hit the fire continues to burn until the opponent is nothing but charcoal.
  • [White Flame Dragon (Weisser Flammen Drachen)] - a fifth-tier flame spell. a white flame dragon with an elongated body like a snake, as a result of combining high-level [Fire] and [Wind] magic. A special characteristic of this spell is that the caster can control the spell at will, within a certain period of time.


Earth Magic[]

Earth Magic is a system based on the manipulation of earth and minerals.


Water Magic[]

Water Magic (also called Aqua or Liquid Magic) is a system based on the manipulation of water, ice and possibly other liquids.


Wind Magic[]

Wind Magic is a system based on the manipulation of wind and air.


Lightning Magic[]

Lightning Magic is a system based on the manipulation of lightning.

  • [Unnamed Lighting Spell] - an unnamed third-tier lightning spell, used by one of the adventurers plundering Velvet's Hidden Treasury. this spell was said to be strong enough to obliterate a regular Ogre.


Abyss Magic[]

Abyss Magic (also called Void Magic) is a magic system focussed on casting illusions.

  • [Calm Rune] - (also called Soundproof Column) a first-tier abyss spell that allows the target to move silently for as long as they don't attack anyone or anything.

Healing Magic[]

Healing magic revolves around the restoration of wounds. It is implied that the healing magic used by Druids and Priests is different.

Enchanting Magic[]

Enchanting allows the user to permanently apply a magical effect onto an item. The success rate decreases if the enchanter isn’t too familiar with enchanting and their ability level is low.

Enhancement Magic[]

Enhancement or Support magic, while similar to enchanting, it's effects are only temporary compared to a permanent enchantment. On the other hand, enhancements can be placed upon individuals while enchantments are restricted to inanimate objects only. Often used by Priests or Wizards to temporarily boost the abilities of their allies in battle and Shamans who can buff undead races.

Summoning Magic[]

Summoning magic is used by magic users to call monsters to battle alongside them, stronger summons require more mana from the user. While traditional summoning is the act of calling pre-existent allies, the story seems to imply that the summoned monsters are rather created than actually teleported from somewhere else.

Synthetic Magic[]

Synthetic Magic A type of magic that combines more than one attribute into a single spell.

Trivia[]

  • It is still unknown if magics like healing, enchantment, summoning, etc. are classified under the same system structure as elemental magic and if they can be learned in similar ways through levelling up.
