Do you know where I can get the raws for days 175-day 285? I've tried to use the wayback machine archive but it won't let me access it. I was told you might have them. Can you help me with this? Thanks.
what does RL mean. is it possible to just get the line that the paraberangers are introduced on day 281? thats the main reason. also, each time the fishlord/gillman is mentioed on days 176 and 210. This is the secondary reason but it isn't as important. The rest is just for future ease of access. Its ccol if you still have to wait for some reason though. thanks!
Edit: to be clear the part i need most is their race. both kanji and katakana. but again, only if you can. Thanks!
With Joker and the staff we think that you deserve this promotion.
You're doing a great job retranslating the days and you made some interesting remarks. You're clearly wanting to make this wiki a better place/encyclopedia.
Sir, can you give me send me the files for the sidestories or give the link for it. It seems that there’s no sidestories for days 200+ in wikia at the monent. Even if its raw it will be much appreciated!
Just letting you know that the offical Pacem Community release is a seperate piece from the community translation. The Pacem Release version is the one placed on the top of a Day page and is heavily edited for reader flow, story flow, and generally improved upon from the direct translation.
The intent and process of it is to create a better piece of literature than the core material we draw from. As such, when and or if you reach Day 203, please avoid making any significant changes to the material as it is rather well known that the material is not directly synonymous with the core literature. Anything before that's free game though, I need to go back and revise old work when and or if I catch up to date~
That said, there are plenty of translation errors abound within us Non-fluent types, and your ability to correct pieces via Japanese knowledge is vastly appreciated.
Whilst I don't mind you doing as you wish, as a personal favor, I would love if you could devote some time going through Day 220 and beyond to double check on the names of skills, people, and locations within the chapter.
I can make just about any use of the English language regain fluency, but I am limited in only using the names provided, or hoping I can get a better result with similar tools. If you could spend a few minutes a day double checking names, that'd be a blessing
I've been wanting to talk you about what I will do with the Days translated by Pacem Cmmunity, so you taking the initiative to talk about it really helped.
Pacem Community is an established translation team, of course I want to respect their work.
So I've been thinking earlier of asking permission from you to do exactly what you suggested, I won't rephrase any paragraphs or sentences, however, I would like to ask to be allowed to correct names and if there are sentences that have completely derailed from the intended meaning of the author then I will contact you about it.
As for translating names from Day 220 upwards, I want to finish retranslating the 1st volume first then I will start. I will probably be able to work on it in the weekend
Lastly, I sincerely thank you and all the members of the Pacem Community for your efforts
The work we did from 72 onwards all the way through into and up to Day 202 is from another time and stands to reason that there are plenty of errors.
One day i'd like to go back and run through it once more over, but until that day, seeing to the remainder of the chaotic chapters that have long since prevented readers from further enjoying Re:Monster stands as top priority now and the forseeable future.
Feel free to run over the older days as you wish so long as it is staying true to the original material. Simply note that if entire sections completely diverge from what was written, it is either due to the limitations of our translation methods, or by purposeful omition.
The writer may be a good man, but he is an average writer that sometimes satisfies his own desires through his work, as well as covering for his average writing abilities with hyper-detailing during less than interesting scenes to cover up lack of imagination. It's my personal preference as the final processor & quality manager that ensuring such material don't make it into the final product. The community translation that I intend to leave below the final release from now on, however, is exactly for such things. So from Day 202 onward, you can do as you wish with the second version for those who absolutely cannot stand for any changes made to the original work. Pacem community is for and by the community after all, and if we can satisfy as many people as possible with two versions, that is fully satisfactory.
As a final missive, if you find something significant within a day and you are unsure, feel free to drop it on my page. I intend to be at least somewhat more active in the future coming days, so I will respond more frequently.
I think you can change this "The natural enclosure model can be easily explained as a dungeon that has its exterior and interior separated by a special area called a 【Border Place】, turning it into a huge 【Boundary Range】 of which the entire interior became a dungeon."
to this instead "The natural enclosure model can be easily explained as a dungeon that has its exterior and interior separated by a special area called a 【Border Place/Boundary Range】, isolating and turning the interior into a huge dungeon."
【Tayu of Night Wind】--> 【Tayu of The Night Wind】, I don't think you have to change Tayu, but I'll mention just in case, Tayus are high ranking Geishas
For the most part the names translations are done well, though this was just a quick check, so I may have missed something.
When I get here later, that may change though, at that time I will inform you.
I'm Joker, one of the community admins. We have noticed the edit you did on Day 106 and, despite appreciating the collaborative attitude, that action was rather unnecesary. You see, days before 260 are in good shape and need no further attention.
Also, the editing performed had 0 cohesion with the RAWs we are currently translating.
If you got any other source to justify your edits, we'd apperciate that you share it or that you discuss with other community members on the coment section on each day. Otherwise, we'd comend you to refrain doing freelance edits without contacting the staff members as, unknowingly and unwillingly (or so we hope), you may be ruining other people efforts and work.
We don't want you to stop collaborating though, we encore you to do so but on a responsible way.
